In 2012, Mingzhu Nerval was entrusted by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to design and construct the world’s largest interior vertical garden at their Shanghai headquarters. This ambitious project featured a 25-meter-tall, double-sided living wall with a central support structure of just 30 centimeters, showcasing our innovative approach to integrating nature into architectural spaces.

Despite being a young company at the time, ICBC recognized our potential and granted us full creative freedom. The result was a lush, vibrant green wall that enhanced the building’s aesthetics and improved air quality and employee well-being. Our maintenance team, led by expert Suzanne, ensures the garden remains in pristine condition with biannual visits, reflecting our commitment to sustainable and long-lasting green installations.

This project exemplifies Mingzhu Nerval’s expertise in creating large-scale, biophilic designs harmoniously blending nature with urban environments. Our work with ICBC stands as a testament to our dedication to botanical artistry and sustainable landscape architecture.
