Bloom Restaurant: A Secret Garden Oasis by Mingzhu Nerval

2018-12-22

At Mingzhu Nerval, we believe that nature should be a part of urban living. Our recent collaboration with architect Tom Yu brought this vision to Bloom Restaurant in Shanghai. Behind a discreet entrance, Bloom reveals a secret sanctuary where guests are enveloped by greenery and flowering vines. The centerpiece is the garden pavilion with a 25-meter-long vertical garden of tropical plants, including rare orchids and begonias.

Shortly after installation, camellias began to bloom in the exterior garden, adding fresh color and fragrance. Edible herbs and plants are as well integrated throughout, providing fresh ingredients for the restaurant’s chefs. This project blends botanical artistry with sustainable design, creating immersive environments that delight the senses and promote well-being.
